Meet Dr. Georgina Mullen

 

 

Dr. Georgina Mullen is a clinical psychologist who works with adults and adolescents to support them in understanding and managing difficult experiences. To do this, Georgina uses a compassion focused approach. Where useful, therapy may also involve Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) or aspects of yoga psychology. Georgina has completed a BA in Psychology, a Masters in Psychological Science and PhD in Clinical Psychology, all at University College Dublin. Georgina completed part of her clinical training in a specialist trauma service in the U.K. and has a particular interest in how trauma affects the mind and body. She has completed further training in Compassion Focused Therapy, EMDR, and trauma-sensitive yoga. Georgina is also a registered yoga teacher. She is a graduate member of the Psychological Society of Ireland

Georgina has published a number of articles in peer reviewed journals and has completed research projects exploring experiences of transgender people in Ireland; the use of Compassion Focused Therapy for people experiencing eating disorders; and how young people with and without mental health difficulties use the internet.
